Golden State Warriors vs Washington Wizards Basketball Betting Tips
The Golden State Warriors look to extend their fantastic home record at Oracle Arena against John Wall and the Washington Wizards on Monday night. Check out our game preview and betting tips. The Washington Wizards have been a near enough impossible team to predict since the end of January. They snapped an appalling 4-13 stretch with an impressive five-game winning streak – which included impressive scalps like Memphis and Portland – but they’ve now endured a pair of defensive collapses against the Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings in consecutive games. As much as the defense is inexplicably inconsistent, the offense is a little too easy to explain. If you can stop and/or disrupt John Wall, you can disrupt this offense. Wall was all over the floor facilitating the offense and averaging more than 20 points per game during Washington’s five-game winning run, but he just couldn’t get into the game against Sacramento finishing with nine points and eight assists. On the positive front, Randy Wittman’s team isn’t in serious danger of dropping any lower than the #5 seed in the Eastern conference and they are at pretty much full health – Kris Humphries and Garrett Temple may miss Monday’s game. This team has a little more time to work things out. One team that probably wouldn’t mind if the playoffs started today is the Warriors. They’ve won five in a row and 12 of their last 14 games to cement their place at the top of the Western conference standings. A fascinating first round date with the Oklahoma City Thunder is looking more and more probable. Klay Thompson has missed the last three games and he’ll be out of tonight’s action as well. It hasn’t slowed Golden State down. They’ve beaten East-leading Atlanta, playoff desperate New Orleans and the red hot Utah without Thompson. A big part of that success has been the play of Harrison Barnes who is averaging 19.7 points in his last three games. Curry has also impressed in Thompson’s absence by not trying to do too much. He’s averaging just 18.6 points per game over the last three and he has actually taken on great responsibility in terms of facilitating and ensuring that the offense runs without Thompson. He’s averaging nine assists per game in his last three – more than one assist above his season average.Back to Stats
Golden State Warriors -6 at 5/6
The game spreads are a little difficult to predict, because the Wizards will surely have some fight in them. However, it’s probably fair to predict that the Warriors will be a little more fresh and they’ll come out with the crowd at Oracle behind them. It’s easy to see them covering the first half spread, even if Washington pushes back after the break.
